The Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell (WGRC) is established to address and resolve grievances related to gender discrimination, harassment, and inappropriate behavior faced by female students, faculty, and staff.
With the increasing number of women in the institution, the Cell ensures a safe, secure, and respectful environment. It provides a reliable platform for women to express their concerns and seek timely redressal.
Objectives
- To resolve issues related to sexual harassment and gender discrimination
- To safeguard the rights of female students, faculty, and staff
- To provide a safe platform for registering complaints
- To create awareness about legal rights and protections for women
- To promote health, hygiene, and a positive campus environment
Functions of the Cell
- Adress complaints through both offline and digital channels
- Maintain confidentiality of all grievances
- Conduct counseling sessions for affected individuals
- Organize seminars, workshops, and awareness programs on:

Grievance Redressal Procedure
- A complaint can be submitted by any female student or employee
- The complaint is kept strictly confidential
- The Chairman convenes a meeting of the Cell
- The Committee reviews and evaluates the complaint
- If no prima facie case is found, the complaint may be closed
- If valid, appropriate action is initiated:
- Warning (if requested by complainant)
- Formal inquiry (if required)
- Based on findings, suitable disciplinary action is recommended
Actions & Penalties
If found guilty, the accused may face:
For Students:
- Warning or reprimand
- Suspension (up to 1 month or more)
- Debarment from examinations (up to 3 years)
- Rustication from the institution
- Any other action as per university/government rules

Serious Offences
In cases involving physical harassment or assault:
- Immediate suspension
- Legal action under Indian Penal Code (IPC)
Protection Against Victimization
- The complainant is protected from retaliation or discrimination
- If the accused is a faculty member:
- They will not evaluate or examine the complainant
- If both are employees:
- No professional bias or authority misuse will be allowed
Guidelines for Victims
If you are facing harassment:
- Speak up — do not feel ashamed
- Clearly inform the offender that the behavior is unacceptable
- Do not ignore — report the incident immediately
- Share your concern with someone you trust
- Maintain a record of incidents (dates, details, witnesses)
