Eligibility for Admission to the Ph.D. Programme
Master’s Degree Qualification
- A candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she possesses:
- A Master’s degree obtained after completion of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree; or
- A 2-year Master’s degree following a 3-year Bachelor’s degree; or
- Any qualification recognized as equivalent by a statutory regulatory authority with a minimum of 55% (6.0 CGPA) aggregate marks or equivalent grade.
Direct Admission after Bachelor’s Degree
- A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree shall:
- Have secured First Class with Distinction and a minimum of 75% (8.0 CGPA) aggregate marks; and
- Have qualified in UGC-NET / UGC-CSIR NET / GATE / CEED or equivalent national-level examinations.
M.Phil. Qualification
- Candidates who have completed an M.Phil. degree with at least 55% (6.0 CGPA) aggregate marks or equivalent grade shall be eligible.
Relaxation
- A relaxation of 5% marks shall be granted to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled/EWS categories, or as notified by competent authorities.
