The University has a rich legacy, being incorporated under the Sri Durga Malleswara Educational Society in 2007. The institution continues to reflect the founders’ strong determination and steadfast commitment to scaling the highest peaks and standards in education. The educational journey of the society began with the launching of NRI College of Pharmacy in 2007 and NRI Institute of Technology (NRIIT) in 2008 to enable aspiring students to obtain good education in and around Vijayawada.
NRIU has acquired all prestigious accreditations and is approved by the AICTE, besides being a NAAC ‘A’ Grade Autonomous Institution with permanent affiliation to JNTU Kakinada and ISO certification. It functions as a private self-funding institution committed with true dedication to shape skilled technocrats, well rounded, socially responsible and brilliant professionals of global calibre. With this aim to empower students through the latest and most advanced technology and innovative patterns of learning, the university has advanced by leaps and bounds in academic performance with commendable results.

Dr. Venkata Rao, the Chairman of the Institutions is and educator par excellence with an outstanding academic background. His tenure as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Acharya Nagarjuna University laid the foundation for his growth. A brilliant scholar, during his academic career, he authored nearly thirty research papers published in esteemed journals, reflecting his erudite excellence. Following his passionate drive to contribute to society, he further dedicated himself to the noble task of establishing quality educational institutions. It is his foresight for the future, his strong determination and visionary leadership, that enabled him to turn his aspirations into reality. Dr. Venkata Rao in the span of short time shaped his inspirational ideas into successful ventures, gaining repute and recognition as one of the youngest and most highly qualified entrepreneurs in the field of education.

DR. C. NAGA BHASKAR
PRINCIPAL
Dr. Naga Bhaskat is a distinguished academic leader with over 18 years of teaching experience and nearly two years of industrial exposure. He has been serving as the Principal of NRI Institute of Technology, Pothavarappadu, since June 1, 2011. He previously held leadership and faculty positions at VKR & VNB Engineering College, PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology, KL College of Engineering, VR Siddhartha Engineering College, and KITS Ramtek.
He earned his Ph. D. with a thesis titled “Jet Impingement Studies on Moving and Stationary Solid Walls – A Parametric Study using Computational Fluid Dynamics.” A recipient of the National Merit Scholarship and Best Teacher Award from JNTUK, he has actively participated in seminars, organized conferences, and served as a resource person.
Dr. Bhaskar has extensive administrative experience, including ISO Quality Management representation and academic coordination. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), a Chartered Engineer, a life member of ISTE and CMSI, and the author of three textbooks.
